NWA people's novel idea of protest

To get the attention of the authorises concerned, militancy affected tribal people hailing from North Waziristan Agency (NWA) on Tuesday held a unique protest demonstration by "dancing traditional Attanr on drum beats, against the government for alleged irregularities in Fata Secretariat and delay in early repatriation to displaced families to their respective hometowns.
The internally displaced tribal people (IDPs) residing in provincial metropolis Peshawar led by local tribal elders Gul Marjan Wazir, Darez Khan Mehsud and Sarwar Khan Dawar gathered on main Sher Shah Suri road outside Peshawar press club. Some of the protesting tribesmen were carrying placards yelled with slogans in favour of their demands and against the alleged corruption by officials in Fata secretariat and Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA).
Amid chanting slogans against the corrupt officials and indifferent attitude of the government towards the problems the displaced tribal families being confronted with, tribal youth performed traditional tribal dance "Attanr" with drum beats. They marched towards Governor House, wherein also recorded their protest by dancing, and raised full-throated slogans against the authorities concerned for failing to resolve the of tribal families living in refuge makeshift camps.
The protesting tribesmen were of the view that the federal government should accomplish their commitment of repatriating the displaced tribal families to their respective hometowns as soon as possible. They also demanded of the government to extend them compensation for the rehabilitation of their destroyed homes and businesses in the tribal agency.
They also lamented that they were being deprived of the edible package, as well as financial assistance for the last four months, as the officials of Fata secretariat embezzled the funds provided for militancy affected families of North Waziristan agency.
They demanded of the government to take notice of the alleged embezzlement by the officials concerned and ensure their early repatriation along-with handsome financial package for the rehabilitation of their destroyed homes and businesses.
