Shahbaz abolishes hospitals' 'parchi' fee

Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has abolished one-rupee "Parchi fee" from OPD tickets across all health facilities in Punjab including primary & secondary health and specialized healthcare with immediate effect. Both the provincial health ministers Khawaja Imran Nazir and Khawaja Salman Raffique have issued directions to the secretaries of the departments for immediate compliance on Chief Minister's orders.
Secretaries' specialized healthcare and secretary primary and secondary healthcare have issued notifications in this regard. The Medical Superintendents of all teaching hospitals, DHQ and THQ hospitals have been directed to ensure compliance and display banners for the awareness of people coming to the health facilities. Secretary primary and secondary healthcare informed that this order would also be applicable on THQ hospitals, rural health centres and basic health units.
