Speakers at workshops said that entrepreneurship must be part of curriculum in secondary schools to promote girls empowerment. This was discussed in two days workshops organised at Hyderabad on the concept of entrepreneurship in teaching attended by 57 female teachers from 19 government girls' high schools of Matiari and Tando Muhammad Khan.
The workshops were organised by Sindh Community Foundation in co-operation with Small Grants and Ambassador Fund Program-USAID. During workshops female teachers were familiar with the key concepts and principles of entrepreneurship, which students will apply in real-life scenarios. Speakers were included Javed Hussain Executive Director Sindh Community Foundation, Kashif Siddiqui a reputable trainer in the field of entrepreneurship. Participants were engaged in group work and small discussion exercise and presentation.
Javed Hussain Executive Director further said that girls have a lot of potential to groom their mental and entrepreneurship skills but due to lack of opportunities their potential and knowledge base. He said that entrepreneurship is the modern concept of economic empowerment so must be transferred among the girl's students at schools. He further added that this concept also create critical thinking process on decision making and empowerment among the girls so that they play very positive role in generating productive resource for support their families and make them economically independent. He said that through teaching training students will be able learn the basics of entrepreneurship through in-class instruction.
He said that in next phase of program teachers will share these concept among girls students of their schools and then they will develop local business ideas , beast ideas will be awarded some cash prize to encourage girls to thinking ways of their social and economic empowerment.
