Less than a month ago, Huawei released its Mate 20 Pro that is now, as per users, has been facing a screen display issue with a green tint on the phone’s edges.
Several Huawei Mate 20 Pro users have recently been complaining about a strange issue in their phone screens as a green tint appears over the screen when operated in low-light mode or under dark themes/wallpapers.
Users have reported that the issue leads to ‘bleeding’ of a green tint over the display. Where some users believe that Huawei used LG’s OLED panels for some models of their smartphone that caused the issue, others believe that the glue within the screen may be drying out resulting in color reproduction problem around the edges. As seen in different images posted by affected device owners, the green tint and its size differs among the various wallpapers and designs.

However, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer took notice of the issue and assured troubled users of a fix. “The Mate 20 Pro uses an industry-leading flexible OLED screen featuring special design curved edges for an enhanced visual experience and holding comfort. This may lead to slight discoloration when viewed from different angles. If the color cast affects your normal use, take your phone to an authorized Customer Service Center for assistance,” GizmoChina quoted the firm.
Also, GSMArena quoted Huawei Finland’s Director of Marketing and Communications admitting the issue and offering replacement for the devices. “We are investigating for a long time why a small part of phones have been green in some countries. In Finland, consumers get a new phone without charge if they have a faulty display.”
