The Punjab government has allocated a sum of Rs 14.86 billion under the head of administration of justice for courts in development budget for the year 2017-18. Under the head of public order and safety affairs, the government has also allocated Rs 19.67 billion for courts, Rs 18.58 billion for courts/justice for the next year.
Out of the allocated budget of Rs 14.86 billion for administration of justice, Rs 16.8 million has been allotted for the Lahore High Court, Rs 5.42 billion for session courts, Rs 9.22 billion for civil courts, Rs 158.5 million for special courts and Rs 35.2 million for courts of small causes. The government also allocated a sum of Rs 801.8 million for attorney/legal services which include Rs 43.1 million for solicitor's department, Rs 415.8 million for mufassil establishment and Rs 342.8 million for advocate general office. A sum of Rs 283 million has been allocated for the Punjab Judicial Academy.
