06 Jun, 2017

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed his firm resolve to continue the journey of progress, prosperity and development to make the country an economic power. While addressing the PML-N workers here on Monday, Nawaz said that his government had always faced conspiracies which are also likely to continue in future but it will not affect the government's agenda of making development.
"We are not afraid of accountability. We have been held accountable in the past and present as well," Nawaz said. "We don't know about the agenda of enemies." He said the economic indicators are showing positive signs and work on Karachi and Gwadar port is under progress. "A lot of sessions have been held in closed rooms and now we are in front of the public," he added.
Expressing his wonder over the agenda of his political rivals, Nawaz said the Orange Line and Metro Bus service were aimed at facilitating the poor. During the PML-N government, the law and order situation in the country had improved, he added. The journey of development would continue as a large number of power and infrastructure development projects were being completed on fast track basis.
Recently, power generation in the country touched the historic mark of about 19,000MW, he added, and assured that more power would be added to the national grid in the current year and by the end of next year. Nawaz said that numerous power projects were being accomplished in a transparent manner within the minimum time and cost. An amount of Rs 112 billion was saved on three 3,600 megawatt LNG-run projects, he claimed.
He informed the gathering that he chaired a meeting related to development projects for Punjab and Lahore. The PM lauded Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for the completion of development projects throughout the province. Shahbaz Sharif had taken keen interest in the development of province and Lahore, the elder brother said.
Expressing his pleasure over meeting with the party workers, the prime minister said his relation with them was long lasting which had grown stronger with the passage of time. Earlier, the premier chaired a high-level meeting which was attended by provincial ministers, officials and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
