Hassan Nawaz on Thursday appeared before a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) investigating the Panama Papers case for second time and recorded his statement about his family's offshore assets. Hassan Nawaz reached the Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) at around 11:00am and left it at about 04:30pm.
He submitted some documents regarding the case before the JIT, which headed by Additional Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Wajid Zia.
Like previous appearance before the JIT, Hassan did not speak to media persons after appearing before the JIT. He was greeted by a number of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) activists and party leaders including Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Asif Kirmani, who chanted slogans in favour of the party.
Talking to media persons outside the JIT Secretariat, Kirmani said the Supreme Court needs to be serious in taking notice of the leaked picture of Hussain Nawaz, showing him appearing before the JIT at the FJA as well as the 'ambulance scandal.' He alleged that the ambulance was called in unnecessarily for character assassination of Hussain Nawaz.
Hassan firstly appeared before the JIT on June 2 when the JIT questioned him for about seven hours. The sources said that Hussain Nawaz will appear before the JIT on Friday (today) and it will be his fifth appearance before the probing team. Previously, Hussain appeared before the JIT on May 28, May 30, June 1 and June 3.
