Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) has announced to set up an independent grid station for Rahim Yar Khan Industrial Estate (RIE).PIEDMC Chairman Rizwan Khalid Butt revealed this while talking to a group of investors from Rahim Yar Khan here Friday. A consultancy firm has prepared the feasibility report for approval of the authorities concerned he said adding that the second phase of the Rahim Yar Khan Industrial Estate would be completed soon.
Soon after 50 percent colonization of the estate, the Company will set up a technical and vocational training that will be helpful in enhancing skills of industrial workers in the region, he said. He asked the Punjab Environment Department to launch a drive for shifting of factories from urban localities to the estate as some ginning factories operating within the residential areas are causing asthma problems to the people.A group of investors from Indonesia has already visited the site to relocate plastic manufacturing units in Pakistan. Similarly, a good number of local investors from Karachi are planning to set up manufacturing plants in Rahim Yar Khan industrial estate, he added.
