24 Jun, 2017

Religious scholars have urged the leadership of Muslim countries to devise a viable strategy to deal with the international conspiracies against Muslims. Central Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) and Member Council of Islamic Ideology, Sahibzada Zahid Mehmood Qasmi while speaking at the "Harmain-e-Sharifain and Aqsa Protection Day" ceremony here on Friday said that the PUC is marking the day countrywide with an objective that no compromise will be made on the dignity and holiness of Harmain-e-Sharifain and Aqsa Mosque.
The gathering passed condemnation resolutions against terrorism, extremism and conspiracies against solidarity of Makkah, Medina and Aqsa. They also passed condemnation resolutions against oppression of Muslims in Syria, Iraq, Burma, Kashmir and Palestine.
Qasmi said that the PUC has arranged countrywide protests to mark Harmain-e-Sharifain and Aqsa Protection Day. He said that all the Muslim countries must remain united for solidarity and protection of Harmain-e-Sharifain and Aqsa Mosque because these places are very dear to every Muslim.
Earlier in Friday sermon, he said if there is a threat to the solidarity of Harmain-e-Sharifain, Pakistani nation will not remain neutral. Terrorists are trying to show bad face of Islam and Muslims to the world. Muslims are passing through a critical period. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia should pay their key role for peace, harmony and solidarity amongst Muslim countries. Harmain-e-Sharifain and Aqsa Protection Day is a symbol of unity of Muslim Ummah, he said.
Later in processions, the participants said that the powers which want to promote peace should be united against terrorists and extremists. The powers who are killing Muslims in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Burma are also trying to weaken Pakistan and Saudi Arab. The enemy is trying to weaken the Muslim world by dividing and spreading hatred among the Muslim countries.
PUC Central Secretary General Maulana Shahnawaz Farooqi said that the elements, which are shedding blood of humanity, have nothing to do with Islam and Pakistan and these elements are tarnishing the image of Islam and teachings of Islam by slitting throats of innocent people on pretext of Jihad (holy war). The resolutions were passed in Friday sermons and processions which condemned the violation of Pakistani border by Iran.
According to resolutions passed, Pakistan has always tried to maintain good relations with neighbouring countries, they added. Hermain-e-Sharifain and Aqsa Mosque are centre of holiness and unity of Muslims. Pakistanis are committed for solidarity of Hermain-e-Sharifain and independence of Bait-ul-Maqdis at all levels. It was said in resolution that OIC should raise voice against brutalism on Muslims all over the world including Syria, Iraq, Palestine and Kashmir. In another resolution, change of successor in Saudi Arab was welcomed and Saudi government and public were congratulated on appointment of Muhammad Bin Suleman as Crown Prince.
