The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Salahuddin Khan Mehsud has suspended SDPO Pharpur and SHO Panyala (D.I.Khan) who failed to keep the protesters against Wapda load shedding peaceful in the area. According to details the participants in the protest procession against load shedding had damaged the public property in the area the other day.
The IGP while taking strong notice of it suspended both the SDPO Pharpur Ghazi Marjan and SHO Panyala Sub Inspector Abdus Sattar on failing to keep the protesters peaceful. Both the suspended officers have further been directed to report to CPO with immediate effect.
The IGP has categorically made it clear that peaceful protest was the right of every citizen. However, no one would be allowed to take law into their hands. The IGP has directed DIG Hazara and DIG Malakand to review the security and facilities for the tourists in their respective ranges.
In a circular issued from CPO both the police high ups have been directed to review the security arrangements in place and facilities extended to the tourists in their region and all gazette officers including DPOs should personally check the police duties in their respective areas for this purpose.
Likewise in another circular the IGP has directed all DIGs of the province to review the security of protest processions of Shia community in connection with Parachinar tragedy. They have further been directed that all gazette officers including DPOs should personally review the security arrangements and ensure protection to the protesters at all cost.
