Provincial Minister for Schools Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad has said that 2-day International Conference on Education will be held on 5th and 6th October in Lahore. Representatives of renowned development agencies and educationists from across the globe will participate in the conference.
Initiatives of Schools Education Department will be reviewed to adopt international best practices in Punjab. This will be a major global event which will help to further boost the education sector reforms process in the province. He said this while presiding over a meeting at committee room of Civil Secretariat on Saturday to finalize the arrangements for the holding of this conference. He said that this conference would be an important event which would put the educationists and experts together to ponder over the education sector reforms. He said that Punjab has emerged as a major player in the field of education in south Asia where government is working day and night to promote quality education at the grassroots. He said that Punjab has launched the biggest education reforms process under the direct supervision of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and it is heartening that the government has always provided ample funds to promote education. He said that Rs 345 billion have been allocated for education in the financial year 2017-18. This amount is Rs 33 billion more than the budget of financial year 2016-17, he added. The meeting finalized the arrangements.
