One of the most anticipated films of 2018 'Thugs of Hindostan' was released worldwide on Thursday. Although reviews for the movie are average, the film made it to the web in a pirated form, making it worst for the movie makers.

Website Tamilrockers leaked the film, which has shocked and surprised many. According to Indian Express, hours after it was released in theatres worldwide, Aamir Khan-starrer 'Thugs of Hindostan' was leaked by infamous film piracy website Tamilrockers.

The website, which has been administered internationally, uploaded the movie in all three languages and in HD quality. Following the leak, movie buffs wrote to the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) seeking legal action against the website for the leak.

Tamilrockers had previously released the pirated version of Tamil superstar Vijay’s ‘Sarkar’, which prompted the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) to seek a ban on carrying mobile phones inside theatres.

'Thugs of Hindostan', which had created a buzz with its trailer, was released across 5,000 screens in India and 2,000 screens overseas. As per the early reviews, movie doesn’t seem to impress the audience. Indian Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh described the film as a ‘golden opportunity lost’.

The movie stars Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead roles. The film is set in the Colonial era when The East India Company was expanding its influence on the Indian subcontinent.
