This is apropos a Business Recorder news item "Dar castigates IK to voice deep govt frustration" carried by the newspaper yesterday. Terming Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan 'a liar', 'a gambler' and 'a tax-evader', Finance Minister Ishaq Dar asked him to present himself for accountability. Talking to media persons after appearing before a six-member JIT probing Panama Papers case, Dar employed strong language against Imran Khan.
That Dar let out a stream of invective against the PTI chairman is a fact that truly reflects the growing frustration of the PML-N government with the investigations into the Panama Papers. Unfortunately, however, Imran Khan, too, has been using strong language against the Sharif family and prime minister's cabinet colleagues. In the meantime, our broadcast media in particular have been cashing in on the opportunity our politicians have thrown up for them.
