The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has yet to recover over Rs 11 billion despite disconnecting supplies to the defaulters. The Company sources said so far 310,000 meters have been disconnected under the recovery campaign. Many of the defaulters have approached the court of law challenging the due amounts against their usage. Sources also pointed out that the defaulters of last three years have to pay over Rs 5 billion to the Company.
It may be noted that the LESCO has recently initiated recovery campaign against the defaulters by disconnecting meters across the region. However, the mounting recovery amount is proving a headache for the management, especially when the consumers are seeking relief from the courts.
