Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that his government has saved Rs 220 billion in execution of different projects and set a new tradition of austerity and transparency. In a statement he said the volume of current year's Annual Development Programme has been increased to Rs 635 billion that is the biggest development programme in the history of the province.
The Punjab government has allocated resources of billion of rupees for the progress and prosperity of the people besides record funds have been earmarked for education, health, agriculture, potable water and social sectors. "Development and prosperity of south Punjab and improvement in living style of the masses has always been our priority, additional funds of billions of rupees have been allocated for the development of south Punjab. He said that PML-N has succeeded in steering the country out of quagmire of problems and putting it on the road to development under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif
