'Sharif brothers used PML-N to whiten money'

17 Jul, 2017

Sharif brothers have used Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) as a tool to whiten their black money, said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday while addressing a press conference here. He said that when Nawaz Sharif came into power in 1990, his total assets were Rs 7.53 million that later rose to Rs 32.15 million. "How businesses of Sharifs grow manifold whenever they come into power," he questioned, adding that Sharif family's assets recorded a historic rise since 2009.
Chaudhry said that a Hilton Metal company that was found in 2005 could not make a single penny till 2007, but as soon as the PML-N came into power in Punjab in 2008, the company started making profits. He said that this company gifted over Rs 1 billion to Nawaz Sharif from 2010 to 2015 and he gave Rs 100 million out of it to his party and later took back Rs 40 million out of it.
The JIT disclosed in its investigation that Hussain Nawaz, son of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, is owner of 13 different companies, out of which 9 companies are in loss-making, he said, adding that these companies are being given funds from FZE Capital Company whose chairman is Nawaz Sharif.
The PTI spokesperson said that the ruling family has failed to file objections on the JIT report so far as its previous legal team has apologized to plead the case further. He also suggested the PML-N ministers to read the JIT's report first and then raise questions on it.
