The office of the Director General Trade Organizations (DGTO) has registered Swabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) to pave way for the establishment of first-ever trade body in the district. This was announced by president, Gadoon Industrial Association (GIA), Mohammad Zahid Shah and other founders of the new trade body in Swabi on Sunday.
They invited all trading and business community, including the small cigarette manufactures and marble industry to come forward and play their due role in boosting trade activities in the environment which dominates by China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CEPC).
The SCCI members who established and registered the new body of industrialists with Director General Trade Organisation, Ministry of Commerce, Islamabad were delighted and termed it "a great victor.' The Swabi Chamber is not governed only by Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate (GAIE) entrepreneurs but industrialists from across the district are part of it.
Shah had earlier registered GIA which he said would remain intact because it is a body of Gadoon Estate industrialists and Swabi Chamber is body for the entire district and open to the traders from across the region. The goals for the establishment of Swabi Chamber are to work for safeguarding interests of local industrialists; strengthening bounds and links with business community across the country; provision of required facilities and interaction with both Federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to boost the industrial sectors and encourage investment.
Shah has been nominated as the founding president of SCCI and the other office-bearers are included Muhammad Israr Khan, senior vice president, Fazal Rahim, vice president-1, Babar Humayun, vice president-II and Nadar Khan, secretary general. A complete executive body and other related work has been under process. "The registration of the chamber was a dream which came true," Shah said.
