At least 14 people drowned as jeep falls into river

At least 14 people, including women and children were drowned as a passenger jeep plunged into river Chitral on Monday morning. According to details, a vehicle was coming from Arkari Lotko to Chitral, suddenly out of control from driver near Chuyo bridge and plunged in Chitral river. Local sources said 14 people were on board, out of which seven rescued, and shifted to District Headquarter Hospital Chitral. While, a dead body of woman recovered among seven missing persons.
Soon after the incident, local volunteers, police, folks and Chitral scouts youth rushed to the scene and started rescue operation. They also pulled out vehicle with the help of crane from the river, from which a woman dead body was recovered. All victims were belonging from Arkari Lotko area of the chitral.
According to the police sources, missing persons, including Fazal s/o Gul Bahar, Mohammad Arif s/o Sher Ghazi, Hassan Ali Shah s/o Zar Nabi, Sumeer S/o Murad Khan, Raheela d/o Gul Rahim, Mohammad Hassan s/o Sher Ghazab, Islaah s/o Rahim Khan were residents of the Arkari Lotko. The injured were included Sheruddin s/o Sher Ghazab, Gul Rahim s/o Mian Gul, Anwar Mian s/o Phelwan, Mohammad Wali s/o Gul Ajab, Salman s/o Mohammad Ismail, Sher Ghazab s/o Sher Ghazi, and Samara Anara d/o Sher Ghazab. Meanwhile, Commandant Chitral Scouts, Colonel Nizamuddin Shah was suprivised the rescue activities and search operation for missing persons. He also inquired after health of injured people in DHQs hospital Chitral and assured the all kind of assistance.
