Eulogizing the unconditional help, cooperation and support extended to him by all teachers, officers, employees and students in successful execution of work aimed at uplifting of the varsity, the Sindh University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat has announced that he will soon constitute a committee to resolve the promotion and other related issues of varsity officers as according to him the syndicate has delegated powers regarding promotion and time scale of officers to him.
Dr Burfat assured the officers that no discrimination against anyone would ever be allowed to happen as long as he headed the university. This he said while speaking with the officers' leaders during a tea party arranged in their honor as a gesture of goodwill get together by the vice chancellor at his office. The interface was a result of courtesy and cooperation efforts of Sindh University Officers' Welfare Association (SUOWA).
President SUOWA Ghulam Nabi Kaka, Vice President Iftikhar Pathan, General Secretary Engineer Sajjad Hussain Shah, Joint Secretary Achar Khan Ahmedani, Finance Secretary Moula Bux Rind, Information Secretary Nadir Ali Mugheri, members of the SUOWA Executive Committee and other officers were in attendance in the meeting. Moreover, President Sindh University Teachers' Association (SUTA) Dr Azhar Ali Shah and Joint Secretary Dr Ayaz Keerio also participated in the interaction on special invitation of the vice chancellor.
Speaking further on this occasion, VC Dr Burfat said that the University's well-being, progress and development depended on the satisfaction level of all the stakeholders. He informed the officers that the University Syndicate had, in its recent meeting held on July 15, 2017, given him powers to resolve the promotion related matters of the officers on merit and in strict accordance with the relevant laws and statutes. Dr Burfat observed that shortly a special committee would be constituted to take up and solve this matter on priority basis.
