Condemning the locking of Masjid-al-Aqsa by Israeli authorities, the speakers at a conference have urged the leadership of Muslim countries to make joint efforts to resolve the Palestine issue. The speakers including Palestinian and Jordanian ambassadors to Pakistan addressing the 'Tahafuz Harmain Al Sharifain, Al-Aqsa Conference' here on Wednesday said that Muslims will not tolerate the locking of Masjid-al-Aqsa by Israel authorities. They also requested the leadership of Muslim countries, especially of the government of Pakistan, to make an end to silence on Al-Aqsa scenario.
The representatives of different religious parties speaking on the occasion announced to observe July 21 as 'Youm-e- Al-Aqsa.' Addressing the conference, Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan, Waleed Abu Ali stated that Israeli leadership has locked Masjid-Al-Aqsa. He also said that locking of Masjid-Al-Aqsa on the part of Israeli authorities is a human rights violation and amidst prevailing challenges, the entire Muslim Ummah should get united for freedom of Masjid-Al-Aqsa and security of Harmain Al Sharifain.
Jewish conspiracies are not limited to Palestine only and aim at making hostage the entire Muslim World, added Abu Waleed. He said if Muslims don't contain Jewish conspiracies with unity of action, these Jews can even harm sanctity of Harmain Al Sharifain. Israeli leadership has installed electronic gates in Masjid-e-Al Aqsa, adding that elderly Muslims, women and even children are not being allowed to enter the mosque without checking. He lauded the endeavours of Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) for raising voice in this regard.
Dr Saeed Inayatullah addressing on this occasion said that Muslim Ummah should pursue a moderate way and urged upon the religious scholars of Muslim world to play their role for forging unity of Ummah. He said that the Saudi leadership has been initiating policies for moderation in Muslim Ummah by making an end to controversies within the Muslim world. He also stated that the Saudi leadership has always supported Palestinians in this regard.
The chairman of his own faction of Pakistan Ulema Council, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi speaking on this occasion said that differences among Muslims resulted in escalating atrocities in Palestine and Kashmir. Israel and India have developed alliance against freedom movements of Kashmiris and Palestinians. This alliance on part of Israel and India can be contained with unity of Muslim world, Ashrafi said. Criminal silence on the part of the government of Pakistan regarding Masjid Al-Aqsa locking is sorrowful, adding that the government should state its stance on this burning issue.
JUI-F leader Maulana Ataullah Shahab addressing the conference lauded endeavours of PUC for raising voice for Palestinians and oppressed Muslims. He said that the people of Pakistan have serious emotional attachment with the people of Palestine and denounced locking of Masjid-Al-Aqsa by Israeli authorities.
The conference adopted a resolution and lauded the stance of Saudi Arabia on Masjid-Al-Aqsa and also condemned installation of electronic gates in Masjid-e-Al-Aqsa. The conference urged the global leadership, United Nations and human rights organisations to take action regarding these violations.
Other resolution adopted at the conference termed the unity of Muslims Ummah as the need of the hour to contain growing coalition of India and Israel. Another resolution was also adopted which urged the leadership of Qatar and Arab countries to settle prevailing rift through the Gulf Coordination Council (GCC).
