The Senate Standing Committee on Defence Wednesday observed that the land acquisition process and determination of compensation to the affectees require an appropriate legislation/ amendment in the Balochistan's Land Revenue Act.
The meeting was presided over by Senator Lieutenant-General Salahuddin Tirmizi (retd). The subcommittee presented the report on an adjournment motion moved by Senators Usman Khan Kakar, Sardar Muhammad Azam Khan Musakhel and Gul Bushra regarding alarming rise in land occupation in district Quetta, causing disharmony among the people. Senator Farhatullah Babar briefed the committee members that the subcommittee took all stakeholders into confidence and it was decided that the matter shall be resolved amicably.
