Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak, has assured provision of equal share for all districts in the developmental strategy. The developmental strategy is based on justice and the judicious distribution of resources would be ensured. He was chairing a meeting at Chief Minister's Secretariat Peshawar, beside Secretary Local Government other concerned authorities specially attended. Among others MPAs from Kohistan Abdul Haq and Zargul Khan also attended the meeting.
Delegations of Local Government representatives led by MPAs from various districts also met the Chief Minister and apprised him of the problems of their respective areas. The chief minister said that local government funds would be utilized through concerned MPAs and local administration in the areas where the elected local government representatives were not installed for any reason. He said the only wish of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government was the transparent use of such funds to achieve the real goals of municipal services. He said his government buried the politics of corruption, injustices and deceit.
He reiterated the firm pledge of PTI led coalition government that all corrupt in the government machinery would be given exemplary punishments. The present government has introduced a crystal clear system that has no room for malpractices, lethargy and unlawful actions, he added.
He revealed that more legislation and amendments would also be made if needed to expel the corrupt elements either elected or non-elected from the local government system. He said the previous system was open to violation and dereliction from duties. The system his government introduced did not leave any room for corrupt practices, loot and plunder. He said that the power and resources devolved to the local government system was unparallel in history. With the transfer of one third share of the provincial budget, the transfer of resources to the grass root level had crossed 100 billion rupees to the district government system within last 4 years.
Pervez Khattak asked the local government Nazims to give hundred percent results otherwise the government would have no other option but to bring more legislation to ensure efficient delivery at public level. He said we wanted transparent utilization of resources and warned against misuse of resources because Special Audit would be initiated in this regard. He said that the Nazimeen would be awarded for outstanding performance in cleanliness and more funds would be arranged from the provincial kitty.
The Chief Minister said that we have fulfilled our promises and empowered local representatives with unprecedented authorities. He said local government representatives have been directed to focus energies to resolve problems of masses and utilize allocated funds on provision of sanitation facilities. He said that all the concerned have been warned of stern action if any misappropriation was found in use of public money. Pervez Khattak said that Chinese investment companies have shown keen interest for investment in the province that would usher in a new phase of prosperity and development. He said that it is our responsibility to thwart designs of certain elements who want to plunder the resources of country for personal gain. He said that those who were found guilty of plundering country's resources would not be allowed to escape and they would be punished.
