Justice Qazi Faez Isa, heading the Judicial Commission probing the memo scandal, is hearing the case. It may be mentioned the commission Thursday heard Mansoor Ijaz’s lawyer Akram Sheikh who said Ijaz’s statement could be recorded abroad. Ijaz should be allowed to give details to the body members in Zurich or London, he added. Akram Sheikh said the commission had no authority to summon and record statement of a US citizen in Pakistan. About Ijaz not appearing before the commission, Sheikh said his client was scheduled to appear before the commission but could not due to threat to his life. Pakistani law would only be applicable once Ijaz entered the country, Sheikh said. Copyright Business Recorder, 2012 Copyright Business Recorder, 2012
