Last week Samsung teased a prototype of its foldable smartphone, however, the price, name and release date was not revealed. Now a new report has suggested that the phone will come in March with a heavy price tag.
A report from the Yonhap News Agency in South Korea claims that Samsung’s foldable phone that was revealed last week will be called the Galaxy F, just as the rumors stated. The phone is likely to be unveiled in March next year and will have a price tag of $1,770.
During the Samsung Developer Conference where the foldable phone’s prototype was revealed, Samsung Mobile CEO DJ Koh did mention that the phone will arrive within the first half of 2019, and also that the firm plans on shipping a million devices within 2019.
If the launch of the alleged Galaxy F happens as expected in March, it will be a little later than the launch of Samsung’s next flagship of Galaxy S phone, probably the S10. As of for the pricing, the report stated the tech giant hasn’t yet settled on the price of the exclusive device.
Also, the report stated that Samsung plans to add 5G support to its next Galaxy S10 that will be launched in February next year, most likely at the Mobile World Congress 2019. Galaxy F will then follow, but without any 5G support, wrote The Verge.
