Provincial Secretary for Local Government department Muhammad Ramzan Awan has strictly directed the officers of his department and others that serious measures would be taken for the supply of clean drinking water, proper sewerage system, cleanliness and provision of others municipal services to the people of Thatta district.
He asked them to propose the new sewerage, water supply and water filtration schemes in written and same would be processed by him to Chief Minister Sindh for the approval of budget so that the people of Thatta District would be provided better municipal services. These instructions passed by him while presiding over a meeting with all relevant officers and elected chairman of District Council and members at District Council Thatta here on Wednesday.
On this occasion Chairman District Council Thatta Ghulam Qadir Palijo, DC Thatta Mirza Nasir Baigh, AC Thatta Abdul Latif Brohi and others were also present. Chairman District Council Ghulam Qadir Palijo drew his attention to the various issues regarding lack of funds in district council, cleanliness, sewerage and drinking water in different towns of district Thatta.
In this regard, Provincial Secretary for Local Government Department assured him the solutions of all matters and also instructed the concerned officers for the early solution of pointed out problems faced by people of Thatta. He further directed concerned officers that the temporary contractual and ghost employees would also be removed with the consultations of Chairmen and Vice chairmen of district council and the attendance of the staff and officers of Municipal committee and district councils would also be ensured.
Meanwhile, he also took surprise visit of Thatta Municipal Committee and inspected all available machinery & equipment. On the occasion he strictly directed Chief Municipal Officer Thatta and others for the dewatering of accumulated rain water from the city by utilizing all available resources.
