Healthy living offers defence against hepatitis: Shahbaz

Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, has said that hepatitis is a fatal disease. However, people can stay safe only by following quality health principles and adapting necessary precautionary measures. It is therefore required that people should be given all necessary information about safety measures relating to the hepatitis. Punjab Chief Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, in his message issued on world hepatitis day said that the purpose of celebrating this day is to create awareness among people about Hepatitis in an effective manner. He said that Punjab government has launched an organized campaign to sensitize the general public through mass media.
He said that government has initiated a special campaign to control the disease and therefore Punjab Hepatitis Control Program is being moved forward in an effective manner. The Chief Minister said that Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute and Research Centre is being setup in Lahore and hoped that this institute would prove a milestone initiative in the field of kidney & liver transplantation, where kidney and liver patients will have all the latest treatment facilities under one roof.
