The profit after tax of Mari Petroleum Company has increased to Rs 9.136 billion in the year ended June 30, 2017 as compared to Rs 6.051 billion earned in the corresponding period in previous year. The company's earning per share increased to Rs 82.87 in the period under review against Rs 54.89 in the same period in previous year. The board of directors of the company in its meeting held at Islamabad on Thursday recommended final cash dividend at Rs 2.20 per share ie 22 percent.
According to the financial results, the company's gross sales to customers increased to Rs 96.775 billion against Rs 94.997 billion. Gas development surcharge decreased to Rs 19.580 billion against Rs 25.859 billion, general sales tax increased to Rs 13.745 billion against Rs 13.509 billion, excise duty stood at Rs 1.794 billion against Rs 1.694 billion while gas infrastructure development cess increased to Rs 33.479 billion against Rs 31.933 billion.
The company paid Rs 3.583 billion as royalty in this period against Rs 2.750 billion paid in previous year. The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 11.149 billion against Rs 6.561 billion.
