eLearn. Punjab becomes role model for education sector

The eLearn. Punjab, a joint project of School Education Department and Punjab Information Technology board (PITB), has become a role model for the whole national education sector. Dr Umar Saif founding Vice Chancellor Information Technology University (ITU), Chairman PITB and Adviser to the Chief Minister Punjab said during a review meeting of the project here on Tuesday.
He said eLearn, a revolutionary project, was conceived in accordance with Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif's vision to make available modern techniques and tools for improvement in learning and teaching process by adopting the technology for all and at all levels. PITB undertook eLearn to execute e-learning solutions in 47,856 public school, over 375,000 teachers and incredible 10 million students across the Punjab province, he added.
The meeting was informed that PCTB textbooks for grades 6 through 10 have been digitalized with 1,830 Animations, 592 Simulations, 13,047 topic-based videos under the supervision of experienced instructors, 2000 minutes audio and about 9 million trendy interactive hits.
Implementations have been done in 250 class rooms, impacting 10,000 students and hundreds of teachers. The government of Punjab intends to leverage e-learning content across all the public schools in phased implementation. The Punjab Government continues to focus extensively on training its teaching workforce and assessing student learning outcomes. It is also continuously working for further innovative solutions to improve student learning outcomes.
