The profit after tax of Engro Fertilizers Limited has increased to Rs 2,445.715 million in the quarter ended June 30, 2017 as compared to Rs 672.537 million earned in the corresponding period in 2016. The company's earning per share (basic) surged to Rs 1.83 in the period under review against Rs 0.51 in the same period last year.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held here on Friday recommended an interim cash dividend for the half year ended June 30, 2017 at Rs 2.50 per share ie 25 percent. According to financial results, the company's net sales increased to Rs 17.247 billion in this quarter against Rs 10.387 billion in the same period last year. The cost of sales increased to Rs 12.032 billion against Rs 8.026 billion.
The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 4.194 billion in this quarter against Rs 1.387 billion in the same quarter last year. On half year basis, the company's profit after tax increased to Rs 4.102 billion translating earning per share (basic) of Rs 3.07 in the six month period ended June 30, 2017 as compared to PAT of Rs 2.793 billion with EPS of Rs 2.10 in the same period in 2016.
