Amid tight security arrangements, a large number of workers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday accorded a warm welcome to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif here at Bhara Kahu. A large number of PML-N workers gathered at Bhara Kahu to welcome Nawaz Sharif who was on his way to Islamabad from Murree along with his family members. The workers of PML-N were carrying party flags, pictures of the former prime minister and placards inscribed with different messages in favour of Nawaz Sharif. They chanted full-throat slogans in favour of the former prime minister when his motorcades reached there.
The party workers surrounded the car of Nawaz Sharif who came out of his car and acknowledged the cheers and slogans by waving his hand. The law enforcement agencies made comprehensive security arrangements for Sharif's convoy from Murree to Islamabad. The shops at Bhara Khau Bazaar were closed on the occasion. Long queues of vehicles were witnessed as roads were closed for traffic due to which motorists faced problems. Nawaz Sharif would stay in Punjab House and leave for Lahore on Sunday (today).
On Saturday, Nawaz Sharif also chaired a parliamentary meeting at Punjab House. Nawaz Sharif vacated the Prime Minister House on July 30 following his disqualification by the Supreme Court in Panama Papers case and later proceeded to Murree along with family members.
