Killed terrorists planned for major attacks: CTD

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Monday said that the three suspected terrorists killed on Sunday night in Machar Colony were planning major terror attacks in the city. Addressing a press conference, DIG CTD Amir Farooqui and SSP CTD Omar Shahid Hamid said the CTD carried out raids in three different areas on Sunday night.
They said that during the raid encounter ensued with the suspected terrorists, which resulted in killing of three suspected suicide bombers and arrest of four other terrorists. The city was saved from a potential disaster by the CTD, they added. DIG CTD Amir Farooqui said India's RAW and Afghanistan's intelligence agency NDS were involved in terror bids in Karachi. The deceased terrorists have not yet been identified. Weapons including Kalashnikov and pistols, and a bomb were found in possession of the deceased terrorists, he said.
