Nawaz committing contempt of court: opine experts

Prominent legal experts have said the disqualified Nawaz Sharif is grossly committing contempt of court by launching a campaign of vilification against the apex Court and his speeches at the public gatherings on the GT road are clear violation of Article 19 of the constitution which protects the judiciary from ridicule.
The experts referred to Nawaz Sharif's such inflammatory remarks, "The masses have rejected the decision of Supreme Court against their prime minister, the huge gathering is referendum of the people and the court of the people have decided in his favour and rejected the Supreme Court decision against him." "The court decision to send him home was an insult to the people of Pakistan." "We have to change the country and we will not allow insult of people's vote."
He asked the people to make pledge that they will not allow insult of their vote and will not let anybody send their Prime Minister home by disgracing him.
Muhammad Ahsan Bhoon, vice-chairman and Hafeez-ur-Rehman, chairman Executive Committee, Pakistan Bar Council condemned the campaign of vilification against the Judiciary specially the Supreme Court of Pakistan, ever since of its historic Judgment in Panama Papers case against Nawaz Sharif and his close family members.
Speaking on a private TV channel, Ahsan Bhoon said Nawaz Sharif is clearly committing contempt of court and is on a path that would surely lead to conflict for which only he will be responsible.
Secretary Supreme Court Bar Association Aftab Bajwa while deprecating the campaign of undermining the superior judiciary said the whole legal fraternity is unanimous in hailing the historic verdict of the Honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan, given for the first time in the history of Pakistan against the sitting Prime Minister. He called upon Nawaz Sharif to accept the judgment and bow before the law otherwise the legal fraternity would teach him the same lesson earlier taught to Pervez Musharraf.
Prominent legal expert Farogh Naseem said Nawaz Sharif is committing contempt of court, undermining judiciary by threats so that corruption against him and his family members can be shelved which is not going to happen.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said Nawaz Sharif is resorting to contempt of court in each of his GT Road 'homegoing' rally address. He urged the court to issue him notice. Bilawal said that Panama scandal surfaced through foreign entities and establishment of Pakistan have nothing to do with the leak.
Chairman Pakistan Awami Tehreek Dr Tahirul Qadri said after being disqualified, Nawaz Sharif has become frustrated. He is inciting the public against the state institutions. He has been beneficiary of the corrupt system. He praised the apex court judgment Eminent jurist Aetizaz Ahsan said in an interview that the apex court has only disqualified Nawaz Sharif from holding public office whereas he deserved much harsher punishment on account of forgery and perjury of documents.
