Street crimes on the rise in Islamabad

Street crimes including robberies, snatching and vehicle thefts were among the leading crimes registered during the last week in the city. According to the data gathered by Business Recorder through registered first information reports (FIRs), various police stations of the city registered six cases of motor vehicle theft, six cases of robbery and snatching, and three cases each of kidnapping and murder during the period under review.
In Saddar Zone of the city, three cases of murder, two cases of robberies and one case of auto theft were reported to Tarnol, Shalimar and Ramna police stations located in the zone. Likewise in Rural Zone, two cases each of robbery and auto thefts and one case of kidnapping were registered by Koral and Khanna police stations located.
According to details, Tarnol police station registered one case of kidnapping and three cases of murder during the period. One Fazila Bibi filed a complaint with Tarnol police station that the accused Anwar and Noor Khan have kidnapped her daughter.
Another Khiysta Khan registered a complaint with Tarnol police station that his brother Saeed Ullah and other two women Miraj Bibi and Jamila have been killed by unknown persons through a sharp-edged weapon. During the last week, Koral police station registered overall three cases of kidnapping, robbery and auto theft. One Muhammad Kamran filed a complaint with Koral police station that the accused Javed and others have kidnapped his sister-in-law.
In another incident, some identified robbers stormed into the house of Tayyab Noor and looted gold ornaments, cash, one LED, a laptop and some other valuables. Carjackers stole a car bearing registration number ACG-875 of Muhammad Sajid parked in front of his house. Ramna police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft. One Abdul Wahab lodged a complaint that two unknown accused came to his house for work and stole gold ornaments. Auto thieves stole a car (LEI-8792) of Muhammad Aslam parked in front of the house.
In the last week, Khanna police station registered one case each of car lifting and robbery. The thieves stole a bike bearing registration number RIQ-126 of Chaudhry Yasir parked along Islamabad Expressway. Another victim Iftikhar Ahmad informed Khanna police station that unknown robbers have stolen gold ornaments from his house. During the last week, Sabzi Mandi and Secretariat police stations registered one case each of auto theft. Shalimar and Kohsar police stations registered one case each of robbery.
