Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) AD Khowaja on Tuesday directed his subordinates to adopt needed measures for inclusion of names of the proclaimed offenders and absconders in the Exit Control List (ECL) so that they could not flee the country.
While chairing the provincial apex committee's follow up meeting at the Central Police Office, here, Khowaja expressed dissatisfaction over police performance vis-à-vis arrest of proclaimed offenders. He passed the directives to the concerned officers to compile the data of such suspects so that their names could be placed in the "No fly list."
The IGP also directed them to send him progress reports in this regard on regular basis. Besides, he has also directed for steps to include the names of those fourth schedulers in ECL who do not cooperate with police and also called for freezing their bank accounts. Khowaja said that police wants implementation of the National Action Plan in true letter and spirit. He said distribution of hatred literature should also be barred by the law enforcers. He said that strict action would be taken against the violators of the Loud Speaker Act.
