Bilawal describes 'change in KP' as a farce

20 Aug, 2017

Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Saturday lashed out at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, saying he has a new lie to tell every time he is on stage. Bilawal Bhutto addressed the party rally in Mansehra where he slammed the political opponents, accusing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan of lying. "You talk about being Sadiq and Ameen, but you come up with a new lie every time," Bilawal said.
The PPP chairperson said that he is well aware what change has been brought in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding that health and education system in the province has been destroyed. "You keep on praising your Ehtisab Commission for arresting a sitting minister. What about the accusations made by that sitting minister on KP's chief minister," asked Bilawal. He added his party is a "federal" party which cares about development in the entire country.
He highlighted the problems in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) education system saying there are inadequate arrangements, adding that PTI-led government is privatizing healthcare system and destroying it. Talking to the people of Mansehra, he acknowledged their services for the country's freedom, mentioning the efforts of PPP government in Hazara for the prosperity of the poor, provision of employment, health and education.
"Khan accuses everyone of corruption, but his government in KP did nothing for FATA reforms, IDPs and fight against terrorism," he said. Bilawal claimed that 2018 general elections will be his first and Imran Khan's last. Later on, Bilawal slammed his other political opponent and ex-PM Nawaz Sharif saying the word 'revolution' doesn't suit you. "You can be fascist and conspirator but not revolutionary," he added. PPP chief criticized Nawaz Sharif for only appearing in parliament when he got into trouble, highlighting his rare visits to National Assembly and Senate, and damaging the public institutions.
He accused the former premier of corrupt practices and damaging the economy with weak policies. He also recalled that Nawaz Sharif took money from Osama Bin Laden and intelligence agencies to derail the government of Benazir Bhutto in past. He opined that both the leaders don't have any solution to the nationwide problems while PPP's manifesto is for the poor, farmers, laborers, traders and people friendly. "We will all join hands to make this country prosper," he hoped. According to PPP Hazara President Syed Ahmed Shah, over 25,000 people from across the division are expected to participate in the rally.
A member of PPP Central Executive Committee, Shuja Khan, said the central leadership of PPP will be addressing the public in Hazara Division for the first time after 1970s. This would be the first public address of Bilawal in Mansehra after taking charge of the party, sources said. The hockey Ground in Mansehra Township was decorated with flags of Pakistan Peoples Party and banners of its leadership ahead of PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari's rally on Saturday.
INP adds: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah has said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will make the country Bhutto's Pakistan. Addressing a public gather in Mansehra on Saturday, he said that politics of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had been brought up under the dictator Zia-ul-Haq and he laid foundation of politics of lies.
He said that farmers, labourers and the poor masses of the country were deprived of basic rights due to self-directed policies of ruling PML-N. Politics of PPP gives equal rights to all citizens of the country, he added. Khurshid Shah said that PPP founding chairman Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto always considered farmers, labourers and poor masses as his real strength and asset. The PPP leader thanked the people of Mansehra for extending warm welcome to PPP chairman Bilal Bhutto Zardari.
Khursheed Shah said that slain PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto had said that she would live and die with poor masses of country and the party was following her agenda. Today Bilawal Bhutto was committed to fulfill the desires of his mother, he added. He said that PPP politics comprises truth and its struggle was not aimed to get the PM office but to endow masses with their inborn rights and resolving the problems faced by them.
