Robberies, street crimes continue to rise in Islamabad

The federal capital saw an increase in incidents of robberies and snatching during the last week, as various police stations of the city registered nine such cases. According to the data gathered by Business Recorder through registered first information reports (FIRs), nine cases of robberies, four cases of auto theft and four cases of kidnapping were reported to police stations of the city during the aforementioned period.
Margalla, Tarnol and Golra police stations, which are located in the Saddar Zone of the city, registered six incidents of crime followed by Lohi Bher, Khanna and Sihala police stations, which are located in the Rural Zone, with five incidents of crime.
During the last week, Industrial Area police station registered one case each of robbery and kidnapping. One Khurram informed Industrial Area police station that his servant Javed has stolen gold ornaments from his house. Another Kabeer Ahmad Satti lodged a complaint with Industrial Area police station that accused Abbas, Farkhan and Mutasib Abbasi have kidnapped his son Abdul Samad.
Margalla police station registered one case of robbery during the last week. One victim Attiq Ullah Khattak lodged a complaint with Margalla police station that the accused Abbas Khan has stolen his laptop and cell phone, while one Naveed Khawaja lodged a complaint with same police that unknown persons have stolen his purse containing mobile phone and important documents.
In the same period, Golra police station registered one case each of robbery and kidnapping. Zahid Mehmood filed a complaint with Golra police station that accused Burhan and Tanveer have kidnapped his wife. Sheikh Akhtar informed Golra police station that unknown people stole his bag containing prize bonds, cash and foreign currency.
During the last week, Lohi Bher police station registered two robbery cases. Asma Ibrar lodged a complaint with Lohi Bher police station that gold ornaments, cash and foreign currency have been stolen from his house and she suspected that her maid Shazia might be involved in it. Another Tayyab lodged a complaint with Lohi Bher police station that unknown robbers stole laptop from his car.
In the aforementioned period, Khanna police station registered two cases of kidnapping. Zahida Shehzad of Iqbal Town lodged a complaint that unknown people kidnapped his daughter while another Muhammad Ishaq informed the same police station that accused Asadullah has allegedly kidnapped his wife.
In the same period, Tarnol police station registered one case each of auto theft and robbery. Auto thieves stole a car (EB-016) of Suhail Ashraf parked in front of his house. One Adil Waqar informed Tarnol police station that accused Saima Bibi and two others stole gold ornaments from his house. Nilor and Koral police registered one case each of auto theft while Sihala police station registered one case of robbery and Bani Gala police registered one case of kidnapping during the last week.
