The Met Office on Wednesday forecast rain, thunderstorm across the upcountry in the next 24 hours. It said that rain is likely to fall in Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Hazara Divisions, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while at few places in Lahore, Gujranwala, Peshawar and Kohat Divisions Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the country. "Seasonal low lies over northwest Balochistan. Monsoon currents are penetrating southern and upper parts of the country. A fresh westerly wave is likely to approach upper parts of the country tonight," it said.
Scattered rain, thunderstorm fell in Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad and Karachi Divisions, while isolated in Sargodha, Peshawar, Kalat, Zhob and Makran Divisions and FATA in the last 24 hours.
Maximum rainfall in Sindh received in Badin 38 mm, Karachi (University Road, PAF Faisal 33 mm, Airport, Landhi 25 mm, each, Masroor 22 mm, North Karachi 17 mm, Nazimabad 10 mm), Mirpurkhas 17 mm, Thatta 10 mm, Hyderabad 3 mm, Mithi 1 mm. In Punjab: Mianwali 4 mm. In Khyber Pukhtunkhwa: Parachinar 10 mm, Risalpur 2 mm. In Balochistan: Lasbella 13 mm, Zhob 7 mm, Khuzdar 2 mm.
