The incidents of robberies and snatching registered a significant increase while cases of auto theft witnessed a slight decline during the last week in the federal capital. According to data gathered by Business Recorder through registered first information reports (FIRs), various police stations of the city registered seven cases of theft, robberies and snatching, four cases of kidnapping, three cases of auto theft and one case of murder during the last week.
The most favourite areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of police stations located in Saddar and Rural Zones of the federal capital. During the last week, Lohi Bher police station registered one case each of murder and auto theft. One Khalid Mehmood filed a complaint with Lohi Bher police station that the accused Shoiab killed his brother Talib Hussain.
In another incident, a victim Umer Rasheed informed the same police station that accused Tariq Mehmood snatched his bike (RIQ-2723) when he was on his way home. Tarnol police station registered one case each of kidnapping and auto theft during the period under review. One Dr Muhammad Kamil filed a complaint with Tarnol police station that unknown people kidnapped his son Muhammad Tufail.
In another incident, the thieves stole a bike bearing registration number AHB-360 of Muhammad Khursheed. Shalimar, Karachi Company, Sihala and Aabpara police stations registered one case each of robbery. Golra, Kohsar and Ramna police stations registered one case each of kidnapping. During the period, the thieves stole a bike bearing registration number RIN 9229 of Irfan from the limits of Sabzi Mandi police station.
