Free facilitation centre set up for dengue patients

The Medical Teaching Institute (MTI), Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) Peshawar have started free dengue facilitation centre to provide free treatment to the outdoor and admitted patients including all the tests in pathology department and all the medicines from hospital pharmacy. Dengue awareness banners were displayed in the hospital.
In free dengue facilitation centre; the doctors, nurses, paramedic staff and laboratory technicians are present round the clock. 24/7 free of cost screening facility is also available for the patients.
Every patient who visits the facilitation centre will be examined by the doctor. The patient would be screened on the spot and if dengue is positive, the patient will be sent to the ward otherwise will be sent back home after giving medication. Hospital Director Dr Nekdad Khan and Medical Director Professor Dr Rooh-ul-Muqim are monitoring all the patient care activities round the clock.
Two doctors and two nurses are on duty round the clock specifically for dengue patients in every unit. MTI KTH has lot of influx of dengue patient; other units in MTI KTH are spared for dengue patients. A special pharmacy shop was established in private room for the facilitation of dengue patients where medicine is provided round the clock.
The physicians carried out their routine morning and evening rounds and ensures that facilities are available for dengue patients. All the admitted patients have their relevant investigation twice a day and are treated as advised by the physicians.
Under the leadership and guidance of visionary BoG and Health Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the hospital administration is working round the clock to facilitate not only the regular patients visiting the hospital but also providing best medical care to the recent influx of dengue patients as well. All the medicine including diagnostic facilities is provided by the hospital from its own funds.
