Sindh minister slams: Imran's 'mudslinging' against PPP leadership

The Sindh Minister for Works & Services, Imdad Ali Pitafi has said that PTI chairman Imran Khan's mudslinging against PPP leadership is provocative and we often find it hard to bridle PPP workers from reacting to it and paying back PTI chief in same coin. He said that PPP leadership has repeatedly told its party workers not to notice or react to Imran's inflammatory remarks as he hurls insults when high and lack sobriety.
He was talking to the media men at Works & Services office Hyderabad a day before. The Secretary Works & Services Department Aijaz Memon, Chief Engineer Highways Syed Tanveer Hussain Shah, Chief Engineer Buildings Arif, Chief Engineer Akhtar Hussain Dawach and other concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
The Sindh Minister for Works & Services, Imdad Ali Pitafi said that in democracy everyone has right to express himself but this is not right to call a popular leader a 'Pharaoh' and added that Imran Khan has crossed the limits. He said that on the contrary our leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari welcomed Imran Khan in Sukkur. He said that Sita White case that implicated Imran Khan was still on the record. Criticizing the opponents, he said that all those who used false allegations to incriminate PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari after his acquittal from the courts were hiding their faces and equally it was difficult for them to digest it. He also said that Asif Ali Zardari was imprisoned for a long period without conviction from courts.
On a question about census report, the Minister said that the Sindh Chief Minister has already given his categorical statement and expressed his reservations on census results. However, the report was being analyzed and PPP will soon issue policy statement in this regard, any injustice meted out against Sindh would not be tolerated, he said.
Replying a question, he said that minus-one statements had been given since the era of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and such statements do not matter to us. Replying a question about general elections, he said that people will judge the performance of every political party in the upcoming general elections.
Talking on the performance of his department, the Provincial Minister said that roads and highways department has improved and added that laying the roads network was the priority of PPP leadership and Sindh Government because better roads network would help promote and boost economic activities. He informed that 41 development schemes of his department would be completed by December this year while 146 development schemes would be completed by June next year.
Earlier, the Sindh Minister for Works & Services Imdad Ali Pitafi held a meeting with officers of Works & Services Department and took briefing about development works and challenges in the implementation of uplift schemes. The Sindh Minister directed the concerned officers to complete development schemes in stipulated time and not to compromise on quality of work. Later, the Sindh Minister for Works & Services, Imdad Ali Pitafi personally inspected the different on-going development schemes in Hyderabad Division.
