Security forces have arrested six terror suspects and seized arms during search operations in two tribal regions, the military said on Tuesday. The army said that the security forces on Tuesday carried out search operations in parts of Mohmand tribal agency, bordering Afghanistan, on reports of terrorist hideout.
The operations are part of the major offensive codenamed "Radd-ul-Fasaad" currently underway across the country. The operation was launched in February this year to "eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country" after a series of terrorist attacks had killed over 100 people. Suicide jackets, Improvised Explosive Devices, rockets, hand grenades, detonators, huge amount of various calibre ammunition and communication equipment were also recovered, a statement from the army's Inter-Services Public Relations said.
The paramilitary Frontier Corps also conducted search operation in Orakzai Agency tribal region and arrested 6 suspects, the statement further said. A cache of arms and ammunition including rockets and mortars were also recovered.
