LCWU establishes six PhD research resource centres

Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) Lahore has established six PhD Research Resource Centers for 16 departments of faculty of Social Sciences and faculty of Languages and Humanities. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Uzma Qureshi along with director research Dr. Shugfta Naz inaugurated these research resource centers in the Campus on Thursday.
Director Research LCWU Dr Shugfta Naz said that purpose of establishing well furnished and well equipped centers is to promote research culture in Varsity. First PhD Research Resource Center will be established for the departments of Fine Arts, Art & Design, Textile and Interior Designing. Second center will be established for the departments of Psychology, International Relations and Statistics.
Third centre is allocated for Islamic Studies and Social Work. Fourth centre will facilitate departments of Education and Research & Evaluation. Shugfta Naz said that one complete centre has been set up in the Institute of Leadership and Learning. Sixth and final research centre will be available for departments of Persian, Punjabi and Urdu.
She also said that through these PhD Research Resource Centers the graduates and post graduates students will get sufficient place and peaceful environment to conduct their research. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Uzma Qureshi said that LCWU is prestigious university where the management is fully supportive for quality research. University has the privilege of Research Promotion Fund to be used for research projects, conferences, workshops, seminars, travel grant, printing of research journals, publication fee and incentive for research publications.
