The Punjab Agriculture Department has advised the paddy growers to pay special attention to their crop which, according to the department, is at a very critical stage.
Apprehension of attack of bacterial blight (Bhabka disease) surges during the first week of September on rice crop so the growers should not let their fields dry till the grains develop. Either, there should be standing water or field should be wet at least to avoid this disease, said a spokesman of the Department here on Monday.
The spokesman further advised the growers to consult agricultural experts of their local area in case of attack of this disease on their crop and spray anti-fungus medicines on the recommendation of the experts.
