Before his departure to London, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif held a meeting with the former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan here on Tuesday and discussed important matters. During the meeting, views were exchanged over current political situation and matters pertaining to the Sharif family, sources said. "Future course of action of the PML-N was also discussed." In a statement, Shahbaz asked the international community, the Muslim world and the United Nations to wake up to atrocities being committed on the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar and pressurize the Myanmar government to act fast.
Terming the Myanmar crisis as a planned cleansing of the Muslims, he wondered how the world community can ignore mass killing of innocent men, women and children. He called for renewed diplomatic efforts aimed at bringing the influence of international community to bear on the Myanmar government to intervene and take urgent steps to protect the Rohingya Muslims. Later, Shahbaz Sharif left for London where he will enquire after the health of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz. He will stay there for some days.
