Interior minister, Corps Commander attend funeral of Lieutenant-Colonel Amir

Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal attended the funeral of Lt-Colonel Amir Waheed Shaheed who had embraced martyrdom in the Panjgur incident on Monday. Last ritual of the Martyred Lt-Colonel was offered at Ayub Stadium Lahore on Tuesday that was attended by the Corps Commander Lahore Lt-General Sadiq, senior military officers and jawans, said a press release.
After Namaz-e-Janaza, the Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal said that the blood of our martyrs will bear fruition in making our dear motherland the cradle of peace. The enemy can't weaken our resolve to eliminate terrorism from our soil and to reap benefits of CPEC with such cowardly attacks. Pakistanis are a strong nation and will foil all attempts to bring any destabilisation.
Interior Minister stated that the acts of terrorism in Baluchistan have been carried out from across the porous border. Therefore, Government is laying down fence along the western border in order to safeguard our frontiers from the intrusive activities of terrorists, he added. He also stressed that nation will undertake all possible steps to safeguard the territorial integrity and defense of our motherland. Ahsan Iqbal also directed to procure the bullet proof vehicles for the Frontier Constabulary.-PR
