Panama Papers case used to target Sharif family: Daniyal

09 Sep, 2017

Privatisation Minister Daniyal Aziz on Friday termed Volume X of joint investigation team (JIT) as a baseless propaganda. Speaking at a press conference, he affirmed that the Sharif family was trapped in the Panama Papers case as there is no document or any witness available to prove the alleged guilt of the family.
He said that the Panama Papers case was used to target the Sharif family. He remarked that when the Panama case trial was ongoing, the lawyers of the petitioners accepted that Nawaz Sharif's name was not mentioned in the Panama Papers leaks. He also said that Finance Minister Ishaq Dar's name was not in the Panama papers. Daniyal said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan himself admitted owning an offshore company Niazi Services Limited.
