09 Sep, 2017

Former prime minister's daughter Maryam Nawaz on Friday held a consultative meeting to finalise strategy to get maximum number of votes in the NA-120 by-election for PML-N candidate Begum Kusloom Nawaz. Among others, the meeting was attended by AKJ premier Raja Farooq Haider, federal minister Barjees Tahir, Dr Asif Kirmani and Mushtaq Minhas.
The sources claimed that Maryam Nawaz exhorted all the wings of the party to use their energies for success of Kulsoom Nawaz in the contest with wide margin. PML-N leader Dr Asif Kirmani said Nawaz Sharif served the country and nation whole heartedly. He claimed that the PML-N would emerge victorious in NA-120 contest with thumping majority. Moreover, Maryam held a rally in the constituency to muster support for the party candidate.
Moreover, in an interview Maryam said that the Sharif family is neither unnerved nor will it be intimidated by anyone. "This is the first such case in which the punishment was given before the case was registered. Nawaz Sharif was disqualified for not taking a salary from his son's company and the Pakistani nation has rejected Nawaz's disqualification," she added. "Everybody knows who the pawns are, there is no need to take their names," she said, adding: "These pawns sometimes hide behind the judiciary or the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)." She said Mian Nawaz Sharif will return to the country soon.
