Affectees of expressway being compensated: PKHA

The Pakhtunkhwa Highway Authority (PKHA) here Tuesday clarified that a news item appeared in the section of press on 31st August regarding assessment of land coming in the Right of Way (ROW) as per market value and non-payment of land compensation to the affected land owners after a lapse of one year was not factually correct.
In its statement it clarified for information of the general public and affected land owners that Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority (PKHA) has acquired land for the provincial flagship project of "Swat Expressway" under section 4,6,11 & 17 of the land acquisition Act 1894. It said that land compensation along with resettlement cost for built up property and standing crops, duly assessed by the concerned authorities has been paid to the respective district collectors in the districts of Nowshera, Swabi and Mardan.
The Revenue Department of respective districts was in the process of further disbursement among the affected land owners after fulfillment of legal formalities and ownership verification. As already acknowledged in above mentioned news item, the progress on the flagship project is in full swing and will be completed well in time conforming to international standards.
The statement further said that it is the first ever provincial motorway of the country and will prove to be a game changer for the entire region of Malakand Division and northern areas. PKHA endeavors its best for earliest completion of the mega project to the entire satisfaction of road users and tourists leading to the scenic valleys of Swat and Dir.
