The three-day annual Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi began on Tuesday, with thousands of devotees thronging to the shrine to offer fateha and pay homage to the Sufi saint. Sindh minister for information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah inaugurated the saint's 1287th Urs. The government is taking measures to ensure safety and protection to visitors by installation of walk-through gates and CCTV cameras. Security guards have also been posted. The government will provide Langar and water to visitors during the Urs.
Mehfil-e-Sama and Qawali will be held during the celebration. Riaz Hussain Soomro welcomed the Minister on his arrival while Syed Kumail Haider Shah, Administrator Sukkur Municipal Committee, Mushtaq Soomro, Chief Administrator Auqaf Sindh, Zahid Shar Administrator Auqaf Karachi, Ahmed Ali Unar, Manager Muhammad Shah Ghazi Mazar Clifton and others were present on this occasion. Meanwhile, Karachi mayor Waseem Akhtar announced that September 14 will be a holiday in the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation. On Thursday all KMC offices will remain closed.
