Lahore to have first technical university

The steering committee for the establishment of first ever technical university of Pakistan decided that university will be established in Lahore and will start functioning from February 2018. The campus will be set up at Government Emerging Technologies College Township which will be upgraded to varsity. The committee also Dacided that varsity will start functioning from February 2018.
While talking to media on occasion, Punjab Education Minister Rana Mashood said that ordinance for the establishment of technical university is ready to be tabled in the provincial assembly. He said that this varsity will be a gift to Punjab from Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN). Chairman TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh was of the view that TEVTAs delegation will be visiting China in current month for further discussing the matters with China's Tianjin University of Technical education.
He added that after completing all legal procedure university will start functioning. He added that Chief Minister Punjab is taking interest in this project which the reason is that this project is being completed.
